The 2022 CAPCA Convention: Official ReCAP!

Our members have been gearing up for the CAPCA Convention since meeting with the NorCal CAPCA Chapter in September, going through the application process, and hearing about their selection for this opportunity two months ago. CAPCA (or the California Association of Pest Control Advisers) is an organization connecting 4,000 industry professionals in the state. It focuses on education, stewardship, and legislation for PCA's— a field that many of our members have shown an interest in pursuing after college. On October 9th through the 11th, Julia, Alex, and Aubrey attended the yearly conference in Anaheim, CA. On day one, they were able to attend a student networking event where professionals presented on panels explaining different career opportunities within the pest control industry, go on a scavenger hunt in the exhibit hall, and have an opportunity to meet companies at their respective booths. On day two, they had breakfast with the rest of convention attendees, attended general sessions where they got to hear research about weed management, vineyards, and biological pesticides, and had dinner with the members of Apollo AG Technologies (thank you Molly for setting this up)! On day three, breakfast was served in the exhibit hall and goodbyes were said to some amazing companies before having fun at Disneyland. Our club would like to extend gratitude & thanks to Valent, Corteva, Simplot, Chico Sprinkler, and the Norcal CAPCA Chapter for sponsoring our students for this amazing learning experience. We hope to see everyone again next year in Reno, NV and to extend this opportunity to more members of the club. 🌱🐛
