Four members of the Crops Club were able to learn the ins-and-outs of the Walnut Harvest Industry on Wednesday, September 28th. We discussed the two varieties grown in this orchard, import and export markets, how to grade walnuts by appearance, shaking and gathering during harvest, where the irrigation water comes from, family values in agriculture, and so much more! Thank you to Morgan for setting this up and to Joseph for being a great mentor to us during today’s adventure.
